The tragic life story of five young poets:
Baczynski, Gajcy, Stroinski, Trzebinski and Bojarski, killed in
the 1944 Warsaw uprising. The movie was originally shown on Polish
TV as a part of the Uprising 60th Anniversary
celebration and includes many original documentaries. The
narrator, Witold Zalewski, fought in the same unit as Gajcy and
Stroinski. The first night of the uprising he read Gajcy’s diary
which was left at a deserted Warsaw apartment. Soon the diary
burned together with the whole building… |
