Magdalena Piekorz |
Magdalena Piekorz was born in
Sosnowiec in 1974. She graduated from the Film
Directing Faculty of the Radio and Television Department of the
University of Silesia. She is a screenwriter and director of
many documentaries: Girls from Szymanów (Bronze Hobby Horse
at the Crakow FF in 1998), Visitors (Grand Prix at
Euroshorts Festival’ 99), Labyrinth (honorary mention at
the European Integration Film Festival You and Me 2001).
The Welts (2004) is her feature
debut based on critically acclaimed novel Gnój by Wojciech
Kuczok. It received Golden Lion for the best film of the PFF
Gdynia 2004
