2002 Polish Film Festival

Volunteers still needed!

No more PFF meetings before the opening on Nov 1st

Volunteer contact: Krys Koper at PFFcoordinator@hotmail.com

There are still some tasks you can help with to make the Festival a truly great event!

If you would like to volunteer for 2002 Festival, please contact Krys.

You can also become a member of the Seattle-Gdynia Sister City Association.

PFF needs help with the following:

(below updates as of Oct 14, as of Oct 19, as of Oct 22, as of Oct 28)

Fundraising

Never enough of that! We haven’t received a King County grant for the PFF this year and we need to compensate.

This is covered mostly but some additional help would be needed. Some help still needed.

Managing program contents

Managing descriptions and photos for web site as well as printed program; in Polish and in English

Proofreading descriptions in Polish and in English, for the website as well as for the printed program.

Finding missing pictures, filmography for directors etc.

Helping with pictures for the final program

People still needed here. Covered

Preparing a PFF flier

This is a leaflet with shortened information about festival and movies to distribute. A volunteer is urgently needed here.

There is the last year pdf file ready to be modified with this year’s contents; this can be done with software at Kinko’s.

A volunteer needed quickly. Covered. Not covered after all – help urgently needed. This is done.

Distributing some of the PFF posters, postcards and fliers around

The further the better: besides Seattle we need to cover Eastside as usual and we would like to reach out to the Polish communities in Tacoma, Arlington or you name it! Just contact us if you would like to spread the news.

Posters and most postcards went away; fliers will be available for distribution Fri, Oct 25 we hope. We have distributed most posters and postcards. We have a lot of flyers to pass on anywhere we should advertise.

Help with setting up the photo exhibition at the Broadway Performance Hall

Help is needed with setting up the portable wall that Krzysztof has made (see the exhibition link from the home page), then with hanging the frames with the pictures. The portable walls are lightweight and have an aluminum framing and would come preassembled. However, some assembly is still required to put individual wall units together with screwdrivers etc. Requires 2 or even 3 people due to time restrictions (starting from 3 or 4 pm on Friday, 11/1, exhibition opens at 6 pm).

Mostly covered.

Help with a program for the photo exhibition

This will be a brochure with a general exhibition description + with about 20 biographies of the featured artists with some pictures. Help is needed with preparation of the text layout for copying and with assembling the brochures into :folders. We would like to have about 20-30 brochures available for peruse by the exhibition guests at the Broadway Performance Hall.

Covered.

Decorating Broadway Performance Hall for the Festival

This is now covered.

Reporting, keeping website up to date

We need a photographer, preferably with a digital camera that could take pictures from the preparation of the Festival as well as from the Festival events. There will be the opening night with the photo exhibition; we will have Festival guests and discussions with them etc. We would like to place reports from all these on the website.

A photographer and a writer for Festival Events pages has been found. We need still somebody to help with  Festival Impressions pages. Covered. We don’t have a writer for Festival Events after all. A festival pass goes with this job. This is now covered completely.

Ushering

People are needed to man the door as well as for the ticket booth.

Ticket boot is covered. We still need ushers though. Ushers still needed. Still needed. Still more people needed.

Helping with Festival guests

Escorting and showing them around (sightseeing, shopping, making them happy about our hospitality).

Mostly covered. Some help still needed.

Distributing and collecting Questionnaires

We want to ask what people think about 2002 PFF and let them let us know.

This is covered now.
