Synopsis:

Requiem is a story about simple people whose hands have hardened from working on farms but hearts still remained tender and vulnerable, worrying about Death and Heaven (or Hell ...). Hiding their fears in jokes, prayers or vodka, they rely on the wisdom of old, wise Bartlomiej who can describe the metaphysical sense of life through meaningful funeral speeches. Is he going to find a worthy successor?

This movie is a requiem for Witold Leszczynski’s directorial career and as he says: “a film about the beauty of world, love and death, about tenderness and brutality”.
