Balcerowicz. All or Nothing.
(Balcerowicz. Gra o wszystko.)
This film features the sociopolitical transformations that took place in Poland after 1989. People are featured who are not afraid to take responsibility for their country. The main character is a former Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister of Poland, Leszek Balcerowicz. Balcerowicz created a plan for reform, which became the basis for Poland’s new free-market system. Decisive and controversial, he is loved and appreciated by some, but loathed by others. The documentary examines a twenty year period that it took Poland to build a new democratic system and discusses the country’s recent history – beginning with the fall of communism and culminating with the Polish accession to the European Union. Depicted are dynamic social and economic transformations, where Poland becomes a major player in the international arena. The film defends the notion that individuals like Balcerowicz made it possible for his compatriots to have a more promising future.
