Maria is over eighty years old. She comes from an aristocratic family that declined after the war. She lives humbly off a retirement pension, alone in her studio flat. Maria has a secret admirer whom she teaches French. She seems like an ordinary old lady. Yet nobody from a group of her friends and family knows Maria's true passion She regularly goes to a casino and plays roulette. In her life there is a secret related to gambling... a diamond necklace. Lost many years ago and now put up for auction in a local antique shop, she’s finally given a chance to take it back.
