Mitja Okorn

Mitja Okorn was born in Slovenia in 1981. He was educated as an economist and showed great potential in his profession as evidenced by winning a national Slovenian economic competition. He transitioned his talent and skills to the film industry. In 2001 his first short film "Be Flexible" won an award at the Motovun film festival in Croatia. Three years later he debuted his feature film "Here and There". This film, made on a shoestring budget, became an incredible success in Slovenia, and as a result gained wide distribution on the European film festival circuit.
In 2007 Mr. Okorn received various accolades, including a British Council nomination for the Young Film Entrepreneur of the Year (IYFEY) Award, and a feature presentation in the magazine Screen International, as European Star of Tomorrow.

The same year, Polish television station TVN extended an offer to Mr. Okorn to direct the popular comedy series "39 And a Half".
In Poland, his first feature film was "Letters to M", which became a box office hit, garnering a third best film opening in Polish cinema history (post 1989).

Mr. Okorn is also a veteran of numerous commercials and music videos.

His awards include:
2008 and 2009 - "39 And a Half", GdaƄsk Festival of Good Humor, Best Comedy Series.
2002 - "Be Flexible", Motovum Film Festival, Croatia, Best Short Film.
