In the Name of the Devil (W imieniu diabła)

Inspired by true events, the story takes place in a christian nunnery in a Polish town. The nuns are guided by a very principled Mother Superior. Sister Anna is the central character. Her faith is put through all kinds of tests to finally be enlightened with the knowledge that the only God is the human conscience. Sister Anna is in her twenties. She is beautiful, clever and sensitive. After traumatic experiences in her 'sick' family she has decided to look for shelter in the nunnery. It seems that the nunnery has a calming effect, but bad memories suddenly come back in the form of nightmares. Mother Superior, who has some 'strange feelings' for Anna, claims that it is the devil that possessed Anna. She promises to help using her supposedly miraculous contact with the Mother of God. Frightened and broken down Anna confesses to the priest who assists in the nearby parish. Father Stefan doesn't believe in the devil and advises Anna to consult a doctor. Then a mysterious monk arrives at the monastery…
