Arkadiusz Wojnarowski producer

Born in 1973. In the years 1982-1990 he was acting as a child in many features and television films in Poland and Germany. Arkadiusz graduated from the European University of Frankfurt, Germany and University of Poznań, Poland in 1997 with a law degree. His postgraduate studies were in film producing and script-writing at the Polish National Film School in Łódz. During college he worked as a freelance journalist for Polish national television.

Mitja Okorn director

Mitja Okorn was born in Slovenia in 1981. He was educated as an economist and showed great potential in his profession as evidenced by winning a national Slovenian economic competition. He transitioned his talent and skills to the film industry. In 2001 his first short film "Be Flexible" won an award at the Motovun film festival in Croatia. Three years later he debuted his feature film "Here and There". This film, made on a shoestring budget, became an incredible success in Slovenia, and as a result gained wide distribution on the European film festival circuit.

Aleksandra Hamkalo actress

Aleksandra Hamkało was born on October 19, 1988, in Zielona Góra. She had her first experience with the theater in Łodź at the age of 3, and starred as a child in three Jaracz Theater performances: “Woyzecku,” “The Curse,” and “King Edyp.” Her first film role was the lead in “Awesome Vacation” at the age of 10. She also appeared in a series of Polish sitcoms and in the foreign production “Out of Reach.” During this time she moved from Łodz to Wrocław, where she finished high school. Roma Gasiorowska actress

Roma Gąsiorowska was born on January 29, 1981 in Bydgoszcz. She graduated from PWST in Kraków in 2005. Her cooperation with both film and theatre already started during her studies. She debuted in Jerzy Stuhr film "Pogoda na jutro" when she was a second-year student. She also worked with the following theatres: TR in Warsaw, Stary Theatre in Kraków and Theatre in Dusseldorf.
Upon finishing school Ms. Gąsiorowska joined one of the best Polish theatres – TR in Warsaw where she created outstanding roles in plays of such great directors as Grzegorz Jarzyna and Przemysław Wojcieszek. Ireneusz Engler director, screenwriter

Born in 1949, in Kartuzy, Kaszubian Region in Poland. Documentary filmmaker, screenwriter, director. Since 1972 he has worked for Polish television TVP. Director of dozens of documentary films, two narrative films for television, seven made for Polish TV performances as well as the popular Polish TV shows "Radio Romans" and "Zlotopolscy," among other things.

Born in 1974. Student of journalism at the Wroclaw University. Screenwriter of "Monday" (Poniedzialek) by Witold Adamek (1998) and "Made in Poland", awarded with Sundance Institute screenwriting workshop in Hungary (1999). Screenwriter, Director and co-producer of "Kill Them All" (Zabij ich wszystkich) (1999) and "Louder Than Bombs" (Glosniej od bomb) (2000). Currently, he is preparing screenplay for a feature film "I Love You, Whatever Happens" (Cokolwiek sie zdarzy, kocham cie).

Tomasz Szafranski director, screenwriter

Tomasz Szafranski is a director and screenwriter, and graduate of the Krzysztof
Kieslowski Faculty of Radio and Television. Before making films he put on amateur
plays, wrote stories and screenplays. He also was one of the organizers of the
CAMERIMAGE Film Festival for Cinematographers in Torun. Currently, he is preparing to
make his first feature – a drama-comedy "A Story About Thieves" - while working on
screenplays of several other projects. SPFF is proud to present two of his shorts plus

Michał Szcześniak director, screenwriter

In 2000, at the age of 19, Mr. Szcześniak began writing for Playboy and Wprost, the most popular Polish weekly magazine. A year later, he had his own column and wrote music critiques for the daily magazine Życie. In 2005, he received a Nisimasa European Script Contest Award, one of the most important script awards for young talents in Europe for his short script A Boat.

Tomasz Kot actor

Mr. Kot graduated from the State Theatre School in Kraków. In 1996, he made his stage debut at the Teatr Dramatyczny where he was named best stage actor in training in Poland. Mr. Kot made his film debut playing the role of Rysiek Riedel in the 2005 release of Destined for the Blues (Skazany na bluesa). He received the “Best Debut Actor” Award for this role at the 2005 Gdynia Film Festival. Since then, Mr. Kot has been featured in several television productions as well the films Testosterone (Testosteron) and Ladies (Lejdis).

Agnieszka Grochowska actress

One of the most promising Polish actresses of her generation, Ms. Grochowska graduated from the Warsaw Theater Academy in 2002. Her film debut was in the 2002 film Alarm, but it was her role of Uli Tokarska in the TV series Zaginiona (2002-2003) that brought her critical acclaim. Since then, she has made several feature films, including three international productions. In 2005 she was nominated for Best Actress by the Polish Film Awards for her role of Tania in the film Pręgi.

Dariusz Gajewski director

One of the most promising Polish directors, Mr. Gajewski studied law at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków and later directed at the State School of Film, Theater and Television in Łódź. His feature film debut Warsaw (Warszawa) received five Golden Lions at the 2003 Polish Film Festival in Gdynia for best film, best director, best screenplay, best supporting actress (Dominika Ostałowska), and best film editing (Jarosław Barzan).

Slawomir Ciok filmmaker, journalist

After completing his journalistic, PR and marketing studies at Warsaw University, Mr. Ciok started working for Telewizja Polska. Working for TVP 1 – the largest Polish Television channel – he covered social issues. Then he joined satellite TVP Polonia that gave him many opportunities to discover how Polish communities live abroad. The dramatic experience of Pope John Paul’s death opened a new chapter in his professional life. He wrote a script and directed a documentary about this unique moment in Polish history.

Leslaw Zurek actor

Lesław Żurek was born on June 30, 1979 in Wrocław, Poland. He graduated from The State Academy of Theatrical Arts in Cracow in 2005. Between 2005 and 2007 he perfromed as a stage actor at Słowacki Theatre in Cracow, as well as Wytwórnia Theatre and Kamienica Theatre in Warsaw. Szymon Bobrowski was born on May 16, 1972 in Konin, Poland. After visiting his good friend, actress Edyta Olszówka, in Łódź while she was attending the School of Arts, Television, and Theater, he became inspired to pursue acting as well. That same year he applied to the prestigious school in Łódź and was immediately accepted.

On March 12, 1994, he debuted on stage in "Antoine’a de Saint-Exupery" in a double role as the Geographer and the Railway Switchman. A year later, he successfully earned his acting degree.
